Benchmarks for r7a.large (AWS)

Individual CPU benchmark results for the AWS EC2 instance type r7a.large. The table displays the single-threaded CPU speed as reported by the Passmark benchmark tool, as well as the on-demand, spot pricing, and spot interruption percentage.

See the benchmarks for all EC2 instances.

✅ This instance type is available for self-hosted GitHub Actions runners using RunsOn.

EC2 Instance family: r7a

CPU Type: 4th Gen AMD EPYC (Genoa) processors with a maximum frequency of 3.7 GHz.

Specific Features: Memory-optimized instance type utilizing Double Data Rate 5 (DDR5) memory, which provides 2.25 times more memory bandwidth compared to R6a instances. They support always-on memory encryption using AMD Secure Memory Encryption (SME). Additionally, R7a instances support new processor capabilities including AVX-512, VNNI, and bfloat16 instruction sets, and use a 1:1 vCPU to physical CPU core mapping (no SMT).

Date of Release: General availability began in September 2023.
